Quick Start
Here you get a short "hands on" introduction to MeDi-Viewer's basic functionality.
This guide also explains the most important terms that are used throughout MeDi-Viewer help
-
The MeDi-Viewer window is split into three functional parts
-
A viewport is a rectangular area within the Main Viewport where images are displayed.
The Main Viewport contains 1, 2 or 4 series viewports. A series viewport only contains images of one series,
which are contained in image viewports. Each series viewport contains at least one and at most 16 image viewports
-
Initially the Main Viewport shows as many series as it has series viewports (which can be configured).
At the beginning series are displayed in the same order as they appear in the patient folder.
Select other series for display from Series Selection by
- Single click on icon:
If Main Viewport has only one series viewport, the selected series will be displayed there.
Otherwise a light blue border line appears around the icon. Click into the series viewport were the series should be displayed.
-
Change the layout of the active series with the dark blue rim using the series layout buttons.
To have a certain image fill the whole series viewport you can also double-click on it.
If there are two or more series icons in the Series Selection split the Main Viewport and view several series at once.
Again, change series layouts.
Return to a single image in a single series (one image in the Main Viewport).
- The Mouse Mode at the beginning is Window/Level.
In this mode the mouse cursor takes a cross shape
, if the left mousebutton is pressed over the Main Viewport.
Moving it up and down or left and right in an image, while keeping the left mouse button pressed, changes brightness and contrast (window/level).
-
At the beginning the 'Size Operations'-tab
is active and its functions are available.
Use the buttons to change the size of the image in predefined ways.
Try another tab and its functions (you can't break anything). Get help on single controls by the tooltip or context sensitive help. All functions are described in the chapter on the Controller Unit.

Exit MeDi-Viewer with the Exit-button
